There are several different ways to rent a canoe. You can choose between:

• Day trips
• Multi-day trips
• Hourly sailing

The hourly sailing always starts and ends at Silkeborg Harbour, whereas day and multi-day trips can also start from the 30 different starting points available along the entire Gudenå River. You don't have to worry about how the canoe will be transported out or picked up, as we take care of it for you. Canoe rental at Silkeborg Kanocenter should be easy and safe.

Safety is an important factor in giving you a good experience. We naturally recommend life jackets, even though it is not a requirement. However, it is a requirement that there must be a vest for each person – just like with other boats on the water. In addition, we also ask you to follow and comply with the rules that you are informed about at the canoe rental. It is for your own sake and so that all sailors have good experiences to take home.

When you rent a canoe, you will also receive a map where the important places are marked, such as good rest stops, accommodation options and distances to different starting points. This way you are always aware of where you are and how far it is to the next stop.

Most family packages start at the source of the Gudenå River in Tørring and are based on multi-day trips. Tørring, Åle or Åstedbro are good places to start, as there are narrow streams here, which makes it easy to learn the technique behind sailing a canoe. It's easy and everyone can learn to sail a canoe – you don't need to have tried it before.

Depending on which family package you have chosen, a tent with all service, cooking equipment and other necessities will be ready at all accommodation locations. You choose where you want to start and how far you want to sail, as it is also possible to start in Åle and Åstedbro if you want a shorter first sailing day. It is your family trip, so of course it is you who decide what the trip should be like.

We are located at Silkeborg Harbor at Østergade 36. Here you can rent canoes centrally in the city and right down to the water.

It is a beautiful place to start a cozy canoe trip. If the weather is good, there is plenty of opportunity to start or end the trip with a delicious bite to eat. There are plenty of restaurants that offer outdoor service in the summer months right down to the Gudenå River. The surroundings and atmosphere are fantastic and help to form the framework for a good experience on the water.
