Start on the popular southern stretch
- The stretch from Tørring to Klostermølle, on the southernmost part of Gudenåen, is not open for navigation until June 16 every year.
- However, it is possible to sail on the rest of the Gudenåen, from Klostermølle to Randers, all year round.

The beautiful and unique southern stretch, starting in Tørring, is not to be missed.
The southernmost part of the Gudenåen is incredibly popular as it is a unique experience in canoe and kayak with its beautiful nature, many bends and rich wildlife. On the stretch from Tørring to Klostermølle, sailing is only allowed half of the year and to a limited extent, precisely to preserve the scenic surroundings, whereas sailing is allowed on the stretch from Klostermølle and all the way to Randers all year round.
On June 16, the southernmost part of Gudenåen will open up for sailing, and it is possible to book canoe and kayak trips via our booking system starting from Tørring, Åle, Åstedbro, Gudenå Camping, Vestbirk Camping and Voervadsbro from this date.

We are the largest canoe and kayak rental company on Gudenåen and we have a large selection of canoe trips, kayak trips, one-day trips and multi-day trips. In our booking system you can see and read more about the many tours we have starting on the southernmost part of the Gudenåen. With our filtering tool, you can search specifically for the route you want to sail, as well as specify how many days or kilometers the trip should be.

To make it easier for you, we have selected some of our customers' absolute favorite one-day and multi-day trips that you can both book and use as inspiration for your next canoe or kayak trip.
There are many starting points along the banks of the river Gudenå that you can choose to start your trip from. The starting points on the southern stretch are between Tørring and Klostermølle.
Many of the start and end points along the Gudenåen are also accommodations. There are many cozy campsites, some of which are more primitive than others. There are also many campsites with a variety of facilities for both adults and children.
We have created a complete overview of all start and end points, as well as all accommodation options along the entire Gudenåen, from Tørring in the south to Fladbro / Randers in the north.
Package deals
We have put together some unique package deals for you, with many different options for accommodation and experiences.
Our Family Packages are especially for families and families with young children, where the trip is planned for you in advance, with fixed accommodation with tents pitched and ready for you on arrival. The overnight stays are at family-friendly campsites, with plenty of space for play and adventure.
Our Pioneer Packages are for those who want a fantastic Danish nature experience, staying in the more primitive campsites along the Gudenåen river. You get close to nature and stay in a 4-person igloo tent, which is included in the package price.
Our Luxury Packages are for those who prefer a first-class stay with a 3-course menu, accommodation in a beautiful double room and a delicious breakfast buffet the following day. We collaborate with Radisson Blu Hotel and Hotel Dania, both located in Silkeborg. We also collaborate with Svostrup Kro and Kongensbro Kro, both located along the banks of the river Gudenå.

Flexible end location, Car transportation & Cancellation
With us, you can always change your final destination by phone until 12:00 on the last day of your sailing. This allows you to customize your trip to suit your wishes.
We also offer car transportation from specific start and end locations on our own car trailer. You can safely leave your car with us, and it will be moved by our highly professional driver in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Please note that we do not offer car transportation from all start and end locations...
As the only canoe and kayak rental company on the Gudenåen river, we offer you the option to cancel your trip if you are unable to go on your planned canoe or kayak trip or canoe vacation. For only a small part of the total amount, you are protected against bad weather, illness or unfortunate planning. If you choose not to purchase the extra cancellation option, our general cancellation policy applies.
If you are canoeing/kayaking on the southernmost part of Gudenåen during your summer vacation, you have the opportunity to take the bus back to the starting point for FREE. The counter-current bus has room for 47 passengers. It is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The countercurrent bus picks up canoeists and kayakers for FREE daily at selected stops on the route between Tørring and Klostermølle.
In 2024, Modstrømsbussen will have 1 daily departure between June 29 and August 11 and a weekend service on the following days: August 17+18+24+25+31 and September 1. The bus stops at the area's campsites and nature campsites and is FREE to use.
