Favorite Multi-day tours

You start the tour from Åstedbro Teltplads, after which you sail towards Brestenbro. Here you'll pass Gudenå Camping, where you can pay a small fee to moor at the campsite, which has a popular cafeteria you can visit - or enjoy a packed lunch. After this, the water gets deeper and the river gets a little wider. Shortly after sailing under Bredvad Bridge, you'll come to Bredvad Lake, which you sail through and then keep to the right, where you'll find Vestbirk Camping. The campsite is a great place to stay overnight and spend some time enjoying the many activities.

On the second day, you start the day's sailing on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Gudenå, navigating through the exciting course of the Vestbirk Lakes. We recommend taking a break at Vestbirk Hydroelectric Power Station, which is definitely worth a visit. You'll then sail through jungle-like vegetation, narrow passages and wide rapids. When you arrive at Voervadsbro Teltplads, it's a good idea to stop for lunch and enjoy a delicious meal at restaurant Det Lille Røgeri. The last part of the day's hike takes you to Klostermølle Teltplads, where you can explore the old paper mill. From here you'll also find the path to Sukkertoppen, which is 108 meters high. From the top there is a magnificent view towards Mossø, and Salten Langsø can be seen behind the forest to the north.

On the third day, you continue on one of the most beautiful stretches of the river Gudenåen, and if you want to see Øm Kloster Museum, keep right at the river's outlet in Gudensø. Here there is a landing stage from where there is a marked path to Øm Kloster. To reach your final destination, keep left in the river to cross into Birksø. Here a canal has been established for a short crossing. Remember to use the designated canoe carts. Continue towards Ry, where you can easily stock up on provisions ready for an overnight stay at Alling Vest Teltplads, located in a nature conservation area. This is Gudenåen's only campsite without drinking water, so it's important to bring this with you. It's a completely unspoiled site and you'll enjoy every second of your stay.

On the fourth day you will sail out on the Silkeborg Lakes. Here you will pass Himmelbjerget, Slåensø and Paradisøerne. Once you've sailed through Julsø, you'll come across three places to eat: Traktørstedet Ludvigslyst, Ålekroen and Skyttehusets Café, and it's a good idea to take a lunch break. If you have plenty of time, you can sail into the secret Klüvers Kanal and sail around inside Avnsø/"Brillerne" before sailing back and into Remstrup Å, where Gudenå Camping is located in the area called Indelukket in Silkeborg. It's a real city campsite where you can enjoy the rest of the day close to the center of Silkeborg, with a rich shopping and restaurant life.

On the fifth day, you'll continue to Kammerslusen, which you'll sail through to continue north. On the way you'll pass Svostrup Kro, which is a great place to have a delicious lunch. You'll then continue north, passing the old monastery ruins at Tvilum, among other places. Your final destination is at Kongensbro Teltplads.
