Hourly sailing takes place from our base at Silkeborg Harbour, where we rent canoes, sea kayaks, touring kayaks and motorboats.
When can we sail?
Hourly sailing for canoes, sea kayaks and touring kayaks follows our normal opening hours, from 1 May to 30 September. However, for motorboats, pre-booking can only start between 9:00 and 11:00, unless you want to sail more than 3 hours.
You can pre-book the boat types you want to sail in via our booking system here. When you pre-book hourly sailing, we need to know approximately how many people you'll be travelling with, how many boats you'll need, how many hours you plan to sail and when you want to leave. Once the pre-booking has been sent to us, you'll hear from us as soon as possible with a confirmation - or if we have any further questions about your pre-booking.
How far can we sail?
You can cover a lot of ground in a short time, and we've given a few suggestions for where you can go and how long it takes to get back to Silkeborg Harbour. The examples are for canoeing:
- Avnsø/Glasses: 1.5 hours
- The Little Fishes Campsite: 2 hours
- Lake Slåensø: 3 hours
- Ålekroen/Traktørstedet Ludvigslyst: 4 hours
- Himmelbjerget: 5 - 6 hours
How do we pay?
All payment for hourly sailing takes place at Silkeborg Harbour. When you leave, you will be provided with the necessary equipment, and we always make sure we have life jackets ready for you in all sizes before departure.
Before you set off, you will, as always, have been thoroughly advised and guided by our skilled staff, so you can feel confident sailing out and enjoying the magnificent scenery.
When you return to Silkeborg Harbour, we only charge you for the number of hours you've been away - it couldn't be easier! Therefore, we can't give you an exact price for hourly sailing when you book on this page, but you are always welcome to call or write to us if you have any questions about prices, times or anything else.
