At Silkeborg Kanocenter we've been providing canoe rentals since 2002 and always strive for the highest standards in customer service, boats and other equipment. You are therefore in safe hands when you rent canoes with us.

There are several different ways to rent a Canoe. You have the option to choose between:

• Day trips
• Multi-day trips
• Hourly sailing

Hourly trips always start and end at Silkeborg Harbor, whereas one-day and multi-day trips can also start from the 30 different starting points available along the entire Gudenåen. You don't have to worry about how to deliver or pick up the canoe, as we take care of that for you. Canoe rental at Silkeborg Kanocenter should be easy and safe.

Safety is an important factor in giving you a good experience. Naturally, we recommend life jackets, although this is not a requirement. However, it is a requirement that there must be a vest for each person - just like other boats on the water. We also ask you to follow and comply with the rules that you will be informed about at the Canoe Rental. It's for your own sake and so that all boaters have good experiences to take home in their luggage.

When you rent a canoe, you'll also receive a map with the important places marked, such as good rest stops, accommodation options and distances to different starting points. This way you'll always know where you are and how far it is to the next stop.

Most family packages start at the source of Gudenåen in Tørring and are based on multi-day trips. Tørring, Åle or Åstedbro is a good place to start as there are narrow rivers, making it easy to learn the technique behind sailing a canoe. It's easy and anyone can learn to canoe - you don't need to have tried it before.

Depending on which family package you have chosen, a tent will be set up at each accommodation with all crockery, cooking utensils and other necessities. You choose where you want to start and how far you want to sail, as it is also possible to start in Åle and Åstedbro if you want a shorter first sailing day. It's your family trip, so of course it's up to you to decide how the trip will be.

We are located at Silkeborg Harbor at Østergade 36. Here you can rent canoes centrally in the city and right down to the water.

It's a beautiful place to start a nice canoe trip. If the weather is nice, there are plenty of opportunities to start or end the trip with a delicious bite to eat. There are plenty of restaurants that offer outdoor seating during the summer months right next to the Gudenåen. The surroundings and atmosphere are fantastic and help set the scene for a great experience on the water.
