Car transport on the Gudenåen
Car transport is a flexible option for those of you starting your canoe or kayak trip from Tørring and wanting to finish the trip somewhere else along the Gudenåen.
Car transport is only available when starting from Tørring
With car transport, you avoid the hassle of getting back to the starting point and can instead finish your trip at one of the fixed stops along the route.
The car transport is provided by Tørring Borgerforening, which has more than 10 years of experience and uses experienced drivers.
How it works
- You start your trip from Tørring
- Your car is transported to a chosen end point along the route
- The car will be ready no later than 4:00 PM on the final day
Terms for car transport
- Car transport is only available when starting from Tørring
- The end point must be chosen from the fixed stops along the Gudenåen (see prices below)
- For 1- and 2-day trips, the end point cannot be changed
- For trips of at least 3 days, the end point can be changed up until 9:00 AM the day before, by arrangement
- During busy periods, the car may be delivered the day before your arrival
- Two sets of car keys must be handed in
- The car must be road-legal and in a safe condition—otherwise transport will be refused
- Transport and storage are at the owner’s risk and covered by your own insurance
- If delivery beyond Indelukket in Silkeborg is required, this must be agreed by phone in advance and will incur an additional charge

- DKK 550 – Gudenå Camping, Vestbirk Camping
- DKK 650 – Voervadsbro Teltplads, Klostermølle
- DKK 700 – Gammel Rye Teltplads, Holmens Camping, Ry/Skimminghøj Teltplads, De Små Fisk Teltplads and Indelukket / Ly Outdoor Camp in Silkeborg
Practical information
Car transport is arranged and paid for on arrival in Tørring.
This gives you a flexible trip on the Gudenåen, where you can freely choose from the fixed end points.
