Start on the popular southern stretch
- The stretch from Tørring to Klostermølle, on the southernmost part of the Gudenå River, is only open for sailing from June 16th each year.
- However, it is possible to sail on the rest of the Gudenåen, from Klostermølle to Randers, all year round.

The beautiful and unique southern stretch, starting in Tørring, is not to be missed.
The southernmost part of the Gudenå River is incredibly popular, as its beautiful scenery, many bends, and rich wildlife make it a unique experience in a canoe or kayak. On the stretch from Tørring to Klostermølle, sailing is only allowed for half the year and to a limited extent, precisely to preserve the scenic surroundings, whereas it is allowed to sail on the stretch from Klostermølle all the way to Randers all year round.
On June 16, the southernmost part of Gudenåen will open up for sailing, and it is possible to book canoe and kayak trips via our booking system starting from Tørring, Åle, Åstedbro, Gudenå Camping, Vestbirk Camping and Voervadsbro from this date.

We are the largest canoe and kayak rental company on the Gudenå River, and we have a large selection of canoe trips, kayak trips, day trips, and multi-day trips. In our booking system, you can see and read more about the many tours we have that start on the southernmost part of the Gudenå River. With our filtering tool, you have the option to search specifically for the stretch you want to sail, as well as specify how many days or kilometers the trip should be.

To make it easier for you, we have selected some of our customers' absolute favorite day trips and multi-day trips, which you can both book and use as inspiration for your next canoe or kayak trip.
Along the banks of the Gudenå River, there are many starting points that you can choose to start your trip from. The starting points on the southern stretch are between Tørring and Klostermølle.
Many of the starting and ending points along the Gudenå River are also accommodation options. There are many cozy campsites, some of which are more primitive than others. There are also many campsites with a varied selection of facilities for both adults and children.
We have created a complete overview of all start and end points, as well as all accommodation options along the entire Gudenåen, from Tørring in the south to Fladbro / Randers in the north.
Package deals
We have put together some unique package deals for you, with many different options for accommodation and experiences.
Our Family Packages are especially aimed at families and families with young children, where the trip is planned for you in advance, with fixed accommodation with erected tents, which are ready for you upon arrival. The accommodations are at family-friendly campsites, with plenty of space for play and experiences.
Our Pioneer Packages are for those of you who want a fantastic Danish nature experience, where you stay at the more primitive campsites along the Gudenå River. You get close to nature and stay in a 4-person igloo tent, which is included in the price of the package.
Our Luxury Packages are aimed at those who prefer first-class stays with a 3-course menu and accommodation in a lovely double room, as well as a delicious breakfast buffet the next day. We collaborate with Radisson Blu Hotel and Hotel Dania, both of which are located in Silkeborg. We also collaborate with Svostrup Kro and Kongensbro Kro, both of which are located along the banks of the Gudenå River.

Flexible end location, Car transportation & Cancellation
With us, you can always change your final destination by phone until 12:00 on the last day you sail. This gives you the opportunity to tailor the trip to your wishes.
We also offer car transport from specific starting and ending points, on our own car trailer. You can safely leave your car with us, and it will be moved by our top professional driver according to always applicable laws and regulations. Please note that we do not offer car transport from all starting and ending points...
As the only canoe and kayak rental company on the Gudenå River, you can purchase the option of cancellation with us, should you be prevented from coming on your planned canoe or kayak trip, or canoe vacation. For only a small part of the total amount, you are insured against bad weather, illness, or unfortunate planning. If you choose not to purchase the extra cancellation option, our general cancellation rules apply.
If you canoe/kayak on the southernmost part of the Gudenå River in the summer holidays, you have the opportunity to take the bus back to the starting point for FREE. The Modstrømsbussen (Upstream Bus) has room for 47 passengers. It is a first-come, first-served principle that applies.
The countercurrent bus picks up canoeists and kayakers for FREE daily at selected stops on the route between Tørring and Klostermølle.
In 2024, the Modstrømsbussen (Upstream Bus) has 1 daily departure in the period 29 June - 11 August and weekend driving on the following days: 17+18+24+25+31 August and 1 September. The bus stops at the area's campsites and nature camping sites and is FREE to use.
