Shortly after Ry, you will sail past Alling Vest Teltplads, which is an incredibly beautiful and protected area. The tour now heads out through Rosvig and out into Julsø. Here you can sail to Himmelbjerget, and dock at Hotel Julsø, where Hjejlen and the route boats also dock. Remember either to pull the canoe up to the left of the route boats at bridge 51 or all the way to the right of Hjejlen and the route boats' landing places, by the small sandy beach.
Møgelø is located to the right after Himmelbjerget. Møgelø is an island in Julsø opposite Himmelbjerget. The name Møgelø means "Large Island", as it is the largest in the lake with 28 acres.
Before Svejbæksnævringen you will find the restaurants: Ålekroen, Traktørstedet Ludvigslyst and Skyttehusets Café - remember to check their opening hours if lunch is to be enjoyed here.
Then you sail on into Borresø, and a visit to Slåensø (located to the left in Borresø) is definitely worth a visit. You have to pull the canoe/kayak ashore at the bottom of bridge 30, and from there it is a short walk before you are at Slåensø, which is one of Denmark's cleanest freshwater lakes.
The Paradise Islands are also to the left, and if time permits, you can sail to Paradise and experience the beautiful nature there.
Now it goes through Sejssnævringen and into Brassø. It is a must to sail through Klüvers kanal, which is located after Bridge No. 7. It is not very wide or deep, and the trees grow out over it, so branches and leaves almost form a “roof”. But there is just enough space for you to sail through with your canoe, and from here you sail into the most beautiful lake, located in the middle of the forest. The lake is called Avnsø and is usually called "Brillerne" (The Glasses), a name the lake has gotten because of its shape, because it actually resembles a pair of old-fashioned glasses.
Now the trip continues towards Silkeborg, where you will sail on Remstrup Å. When you arrive at the end point, which is at Silkeborg Harbour, where we have our base, you hand in the canoe, and from here it is a 5-minute walk to the hotel.
After this, a lovely evening awaits you at Radisson Blu Hotel Papirfabrikken with dinner, accommodation and a delicious breakfast buffet the next day. The hotel is centrally located down towards the promenade along Remstrup Å.

It is a completely fantastic experience to follow the Gudenåen river from Silkeborg towards Svostrup, where you experience nature at its most beautiful. You meet us at Silkeborg Harbour, where we guide and advise you for the best possible experience. When you are on the water, you have to go through Kammerslusen, which is the only lock on the Gudenåen river and is definitely worth experiencing.
Along the way, you'll pass a rest area in Resenbro with toilet and tables/benches.
When you have to pass Sminge Sø (a small lake), keep to the left part of the lake, as the right part is protected. Then the Gudenåen river gathers again, and shortly after you will arrive at Sminge Rasteplads, on your left side, where you will find a bird tower, so you can see out over Gjern Bakker.
Approx. 800 m further on, you sail under Svostrup Bro, where one of the old barge hauler inns, Svostrup Kro, comes into view. You have arrived and the canoe must be carried approx. 50 meters up towards the parking lot, so we spare the space when the canoe is to be picked up.

In addition to a grill bar, there are also toilets here.

As you approach Ans, be aware of sailing under the bridge. Afterwards, if you keep to the right, you can take a rest at Sahl Rasteplads, where there is a toilet. If you want to take a rest where there is the possibility of shopping and eateries, keep slightly to the left and then to the left of the small island, which is located in the middle of Tange Sø. Then on your left hand, you will arrive at Ans Teltplads. A short walk from there will bring you to Ans.
Approx. ½ hour's sailing after Ans is Tange Søbad, where there is a rest area with a toilet. Here it is obvious to take a dip.
At the end of Tange Sø is Tangeværket and Energimuseet, where there will be a portage with the canoe/kayak. You have to pull the canoe ashore, and use the canoe trolleys intended for this purpose, which you will typically find on the other side, as this is where the other sailors have left the trolleys.
After Tangeværket you have about 1 hour's sailing to Bjerringbro Teltplads, where the canoe must be returned.
